Penfolds has unveiled its new bottle of wine Kalimna Block 42 of 2004 : a uniquely designed bottle sold € 136,000 ... Hurry, there will not be for everyone, only 12 were produced.
Un grand cru peut-il être considéré comme une œuvre d’art ? Do not dream, It's not about the last bachelor. But this is certainly the view of Penfolds, Australian producer of fine wines who decided to put some of his vintage Kalimna Block 42 of 2004 (a pure Cabernet Sauvignon from very old vines) in twelve bottles for less atypical.
Finished the bottle that sits on the table, forgot the corkscrew which supplies drinking, this bottle then, on la garde dans son écrin et on ne l’ouvre pas ! La maison a fait appel aux plus grands artistes pour créer cette bouteille : the master glassblower Nick Mount, the glassblower Ray Leake, Hendrick Forster designer and cabinetmaker Andrew Bartlett. First of all, the wine is contained in a small vial, sort of test tube specifically designed for the occasion in order to keep the wine to the ideal. This tube is inserted into a glass sculpture, itself sealed and decorated with precious metals. La « bouteille » (ou ampoule ?) is then suspended in a wooden box that optimizes the custody of the wine while protecting the sculpture shocks. Le tout est alors scellé et seuls les « seniors » de Penfolds ont les clés.
For not, you can not open this bottle only. Not only the user manual is not provided, but in addition you will not have the key. However, if just a day of great thirst, do not worry ... A hotline is dedicated to you and, wherever you are, an employee will deliver the precious juice, the movement being included in the price of the bottle.
