At iDealwine was not too used to talking spirits, we leave that, are also, specialists of the House of Whisky. But there, still, with a bid of 56850 euros for a single bottle, we leave our reserves !

Presque 57000€ (46000£) for a bottle of Whisky, what more ? At a auction of wines and spirits held in London a few days ago, one vial of Glenfiddich Rare Collection 1937 has reached the staggering. A strand, certainly, below the estimate expected by the House Christie's, holding the hammer, but still ! The catalog states that this precious " single malt Scotch whiskey "Waited a good sixty years (up in October 2001), before David Stewart, Glenfiddich Malt Master, ready to be ordered bottled. This rare vintage could be conditioned to 61 copies, all numbered. Toujours familiale, Glenfiddich home (which means "Valley of the Deer 'in Gaelic) was founded in 1886 by William Grant, which has its first malt distilled on Christmas Day 1887.

Other recorded strong sales of single malts, point out a bottle Glenfiddich Private Vintage 1955, party to € 10,660 (8625£) . Two bottles Macallan Select Reserve, one of the vintage 1948 et l’autre de 52 years of age, reached € 9950 (8050£) the lot, while a bottle Royal Brackla 60 years of age, distilled 1926, was trading at € 9240 (7475£). A pack of three bottles (Black, White & Gold Bowmore), in distilled 1964, has meanwhile reached € 17,055 (13800£).
