True reference of the name for over a hundred years, Coursodon family knew in advance the quality by planting vines on the slopes the steepest and most difficult to work. But, consequence of this work, beautiful red wines marked by their local and harmoniously as they age.

In the late nineteenth century, Antoninus and his father Jean-Auguste give birth to the field Coursogift. Antonin, far ahead of his time, regularly attends fairs in the region to promote its the variety of the wine . Later, in the years 50, the son of Antonin, Gustave, manages to sell his wine in Paris. He ships it by rail in barrels in cafes of the capital. It is also beginning to market the estate wines bottled. At the time, Gustave was regarded as a pioneer ! He is joined at the beginning of year 70 by his son Peter, which, the sake of quality, part in the reconqubeen steep hillsides of St. Joseph, too long neglected in favor of Vineyards easier to work. It's time for Jerome to join his father in the field 1998. It seeks above all the finesse and elegance

The Coursodon vinify so from father to son for five generations. The area which now 15 hectares (13 red and 2 in white) is located in the village of Mauves, au cœur historique de l’appellation Saint-Joseph dont il est l’un des plus prestigieux représentants. It produces only saint josephs red and white. The vineyard is divided into terraces facing south / southeast on soils of schist and granite, terroir for Syrah. The remaining area is distributed over the common Glun, Tournon and St Jean-de-Muzols. All harvest is done manually and wines, red and white, are aged in barrels. Whether you are in theno granite place called St. Joseph, “a cottage on the Olivaie” vintages “in a corner of Paradise”, it is the same conviction that drove generations of Coursodon to produce harmonious and rare wines. Jerome Coursodon likes to say that " it is the sum of small details that makes the difference ". If the estate's wines are now almost flawless Coursodon, they owe it to this constant search for excellence that inspired all generations of Coursodon, since Jean-Auguste to Jerome today.
